Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, or using the JoSay application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and JoSay Team ("we," "us," or "our"), the developer of JoSay. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

JoSay is a real-time translation communication application developed by JoSay Team. The App enables users who speak different languages to communicate with each other through instant text translation. JoSay facilitates communication; it does not generate, store, or take ownership of the content you exchange.

To use JoSay, you must:

• Be at least 13 years of age
• Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement
• Not be prohibited from using the App under applicable laws in your jurisdiction

If you are between the ages of 13 and 18, you represent that you have obtained parental or guardian consent to use the App and to agree to these Terms.

Some features of JoSay may require you to create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information when registering
• Keep your login credentials confidential and not share them with others
• Be solely responsible for all activities that occur under your account
• Notify JoSay Team immediately if you suspect unauthorized use of your account

Note: Joining a chat room as a guest does not require account registration. Guest participants are not subject to account-related obligations.

JoSay is designed to help people connect across language barriers. You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in ways that do not infringe the rights of others. Acceptable uses include:

• Personal, social, or casual conversations
• Business communication and negotiations
• Travel, tourism, and hospitality interactions
• Cross-border commercial transactions
• Customer support in multilingual contexts

You agree NOT to use JoSay to:

• Transmit content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable
• Engage in harassment, bullying, or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, religion, nationality, disability, or sexual orientation
• Transmit spam, unsolicited advertising, or fraudulent messages
• Attempt to deceive, impersonate, or misrepresent yourself or others
• Distribute malware, viruses, or any other harmful software
• Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise extract the source code of JoSay
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the App or its servers

All intellectual property rights in JoSay — including but not limited to the App's design, code, branding, logo, name, and features — are owned by JoSay Team. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use JoSay Team's intellectual property except as necessary to use the App as intended. You retain ownership of any content you create and share through JoSay. By using the App, you grant JoSay Team a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process your content solely for the purpose of delivering the translation service to you and the participants in your chat room.

JoSay is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. JoSay Team does not warrant that:

• The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components
• The App will meet your specific requirements or expectations
• Any errors or defects will be corrected

JoSay uses AI-powered translation to facilitate communication between users. While we strive to provide accurate and natural translations, we cannot guarantee that all translations will be perfect, complete, or suitable for every context.

• Translations are provided for general communication purposes
• JoSay is not intended as a substitute for professional translation in legal, medical, or other high-stakes contexts
• JoSay Team is not responsible for any misunderstandings or consequences arising from translation inaccuracies
• Users are encouraged to exercise judgment and seek professional translation services when precision is critical

JoSay Team reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to JoSay at any time, with or without notice, for any reason including but not limited to:

• Violation of these Terms of Service
• Conduct that is harmful to other users or to JoSay Team
• Legal or regulatory requirements

You may also terminate your use of JoSay at any time by deleting the App and, if applicable, requesting deletion of your account.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Taiwan (Republic of China), without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of JoSay shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Taiwan.

JoSay Team reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Your continued use of JoSay after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the App.
